Carly Fiorina 'Uncomfortable' Giving President Obama Trade Authority - Breitbart

The only female GOP presidential candidate tells Laura Ingraham that she thinks free and fair trade will advantage America, but added that she is “very uncomfortable with this deal.”

Carly Fiorina was responding to Ingraham’s question as to what she thinks about giving President Obama fast track trade authority.

“I’m uncomfortable with this deal and giving him trade authority,” Fiorina said. “Because first of all, I know from personal experience that the Chinese have not lived up to their agreements when they entered the WTO. In other words, partners can cheat on these deals, and we have evidence of partners cheating on these deals.”

Fiorina continued, “Secondly to your point, this is an extremely complicated deal, a multilateral deal with a lot of details that we don’t know about. And Obama and his administration has demonstrated their inability to negotiate a good deal. And so look, I think the devil’s in the details, and we better understand what these details are before we just assume it’s a good deal. I don’t assume it’s a good deal and I do think we need the details.”

Rick Manning, President of Americans for Limited Government, has been outspoken in opposition to the fast track trade deal. He applauds Fiorina’s statements.

“Carly Fiorina’s questioning the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal is a big deal. Joining Bobby Jindal, Mike Huckabee, and Donald Trump in opposition to granting trade promotion authority to President Obama to negotiate the deal now nationalizes the debate,” Manning said. “Fiorina’s experience as a multinational corporation CEO who has dealt with countries who cheat on trade makes her voice particularly important as Congress considers fast track.”

Donald Trump, along with Americans for Limited Government, launched an ad recently in opposition of the trade deal.

“While I’m a Republican, right now, some in the Republican Party are working overtime to hand more power to President Obama,” Trump said. “These same people are turning their backs on the American workers and businesses. It’s unbelievable.”

Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) tells Breitbart News that the fast track trade authority should be blocked to keep Obama from doing any more harm to America.

Gov. Mike Huckabee, GOP presidential candidate, also told MSNBC Congress shouldn’t approve Obama’s trade deal.

“I’d like to think the U.S. government would stand up for the U.S. workers, rather than let them take it in the backside and somehow just have to tough it out,” Huckabee said.
